True Beauty

Like many, my days consist of time working out, putting make up on, picking out the perfect outfit, and looking at myself in the mirror. I think every mile I run, every crunch I do, the longer my eyelashes are, and the cuter the hairstyle that I will be more beautiful, therefore more happy. The more guys I get to look at me, the more picture comments on my websites, and the more weight I lose can only make things better in life. I can spend so much time thinking, planning, dreaming, and focused on my looks that it gets ridiculous. I always want to be the best looking I can be, so I set goals, but what happens when I reach my goals? When I finally get to my goal weight, when my hair grows out, when I’m tan, when my make up is done, what do I have to show?
All I have to really show is I put time into my appearance, that perhaps since I spend so much time worrying and focusing on my looks that appearance is what the matters most to me. That I want to be noticed, I want girls to be envious and guys to want me. Truth is, I don’t want that. I get so caught up in the world that sometimes I forget what true beauty is. Beauty is invisible, something within the heart, not the eye. A person who gives up their spending money to someone in need is beautiful. A person who is a working single mother/father who still has time to read her bible is beautiful. A teenager who chooses going to church rather than going out to drink is beautiful. A person who lives for God and tries to fufill his desires instead of their own is beautiful. If you meet a person and they are kind, generous, forgiving, gracious, and loving you see them as beautiful. On the other hand, if you meet someone who is rude, foul, hateful, and unencouraging you see them as ugly.
The devil has the power to deceive others and make them believe that bad things are beautiful. Only you, with God’s help, can be the one to ignore the world and see everyone and everything from God’s perspective. When you open your eyes to God’s side you will have never seen so much beauty. You notice the creations, the people, the love, the joy, the compassion, and the value in yourself. If you want to stand out, then stand out for the right reason. Be the one to walk into a place and have others see you as beautiful because you are the one that loves God. That you are the one who stays pure, obedient, strong, faithful, and devoted. When people see the difference between a Godly person and others then they begin to see how God works in peoples lives.

"God does not view things the way men do. People look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" -1 Samuel 16:7

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." -Hebrews 11:25
